So I’m not having a plagiarism issue exactly, but there are some things that I find frustrating about using textbooks for assignments. When you assign vocab, the majority of students immediately go straight to the back of the book and look up the definition in the glossary, even when you tell them not too and even when they know that it won’t give them what they need for the assignment. They also just look for the easiest way to do things even though it isn’t the best way for them to learn. It’s pretty frustrating for me to have to reexplain the directions to them, telling them not to look in the back of the book and then that’s the first thing they do.
